Jean Huttard - L'Etreinte Sauvage - Pinot Noir - Alsace

Jean Huttard - L'Etreinte Sauvage - Pinot Noir - Alsace

Hand-picked from three parcels of clay-limestone soils, this wine benefits from full sun exposure and natural ground cover, which helps reduce yields and concentrate flavour. The vines are carefully pruned, and all harvesting is done by hand.

In the glass, it shows a deep carmine red with hints of purple. The nose is full of ripe red fruit, while the palate is supported by supple, well-integrated tannins. The finish is powerful and lingering, with rich roasted notes of chocolate and coffee.

About the Winery
Based near Colmar in the village of Zellenberg, this 160-year-old estate has been run by siblings Hélène and Antoine since 2015. They’ve brought new life to the winery with a strong focus on low-intervention winemaking and a deep respect for the environment. For them, ecology and tradition go hand in hand – as do sunshine, soil, and the people who care for the vines.

The estate is small but spread across many different parcels, allowing them to craft a wide range of distinctive micro-cuvées.
