What is Organic wine

Posted by Philippe Polleux on

It is a wine produced from organic agriculture; it is produced without chemical fertiliser, chemical herbicides or chemical fungicides.

Natural products are allowed to replace chemicals and notably the use of coppers or sulfurs.

In the cellar, the wine can have sulfites but used at lower amounts than in a conventional wine.

The downside is depending on the country, the rules will differ and some countries will be less strict than others.

In Europe, the demand for Organic products is increasing and therefore more and more producers are shifting to organic agriculture.

The main positive note from organic agriculture is the impact on the environment, but it will also have an impact on our health and producers' health. At last there is an impact on the taste of the product, organic fruits will be most of the time of better quality.

At peopleswine we have a broad selection of Organic wines made by artisanal producers.
